Abstract

This research aims to publish a collection of previously unpublished coins issued during the Byzantine period. These coins were selected from the collections in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Fortunately, they have not been published before, but we find some coins in poor condition due to poor preservation and poor economic conditions at that time. The researchers have worked hard to read and classify them. The researchers will publish these coins in a catalog included in the research, so that these coins are arranged according to the chronological order of each coin. The researchers will rely on the descriptive, analytical, comparative approach to describe the aforementioned coins for all the artistic drawings and writings on the coins. Then, after completing the accurate description of these Byzantine coins included in the research catalog, all coins will be commented on comprehensively, whether in terms of historical, political, religious, or especially economic events. These pieces date back to Emperor Constantine I (323-337 AD), Anastasius I (491-518 AD), Emperor Justin II (565-578 AD) and Emperor Maurice (582-602 AD).
