Abstract

The revolution in the field of communications technology and the emergence of smart phone technology has made it possible to communicate between tourism service providers and customers, and between customers themselves on the Internet; to exchange information and opinions about tourism and travel activities. This has become easier through tourism applications "Mobile Tourism Application", which have diversified to cover all areas of tourism work such as tourism and airline company applications, hotel applications, tourist guidance applications, and others. Therefore, the theoretical part of the current study aims to present the development of smartphone technology and highlight the basic technological trends in the field of tourism applications, the most important uses of smartphones and their applications in the tourism sector, with a review of the classifications of these tourism applications and their most important models, their benefits and how to use them in tourism marketing. As for the field part of the study, it aims to verify the validity of the study hypothesis, so it relied on designing a survey form and distributing it to (450) individuals who use smartphone applications in the tourism field in Egypt; This is to identify the extent of their spread and the impact of using their applications in supporting and developing tourism marketing operations in Egypt
