Abstract

Local administration is one of the most important bodies that contribute to supporting the process of economic and social development. Since the tourism development plan is an integral part of the countries' plan for economic and social development, local administration has an important role in contributing to its prosperity. In Egypt, local administration has been marginalized and ignored for many years, which has greatly affected its performance rate. However, in recent years, there has been a noticeable interest in the need to restore the basic role of local administration in supporting the service and development of society in all its aspects. However, the role of local administration in the tourism field is still characterized by lack of clarity. Therefore, the research used the descriptive analytical approach to describe and analyze the role of the research community, which includes local administrations directly linked to tourism work in the city of Alexandria, relying on the personal interview tool in order to reach a number of results and recommendations.
