Abstract

This research sheds light on one of the eminent men that represent the Egyptian national unity, Qallini Fahmi Pasha (1942-1954 AD), who grew up in Minya, educated in Cairo and got promoted until he became an influential figure in Egyptian politics and society. The historical studies did not shed light on his biography, deeds, and political and societal role, except from some few studies that referred to his books in a marginal way. Therefore, this research aims to study his biography and his most important deeds, through contemporary sources for the period of his life, and by referring to all his books and memoirs published in his life, which the researcher was able to reach, and extract what could be useful for the tourist guides to enrich their information, through the biography of Qallini Fahmy Pasha and his direct relationship with the rulers of Egypt, so that this study would be the first scientific study that deal with this national personality and make use of his biography in enriching the historical content of with one of the realistic examples that demonstrate the tolerance between the two elements of the nation Muslim and Christian, in particular. The study traced his charitable work, which is led to the mosque that bore his name in his hometown in Minya, so the researcher hope to open more fields of historical study of his memoirs related to various national issues.
